I'm totally sick at work and it sucks. What sucks more is that I don't have sick time yet. I have accrued it but I can't use it until 3 more months pass. So here I sit, browsing for trocadero bags and foodie podcasts when i should be compiling stats.
I'm glad Christmas is over, but I am not glad I'm back in L.A. and all the family is home in San Diego. I was barely starting to enjoy my time when next thing I knew it was time to pack the rabbit up with bags and clean laundry. This Christmas was good. Less sad as the 2 previous ones but yet a little bit of a downer. I managed to get gifts for everyone even the unexpected guests. I got to spend the day with my pals. I got to see both Alyssa and Paola and laugh about old times and new circumstances. It's refreshing to know that know matter how much the time makes me crazy i have good friends to bring me sanity.
I got some pretty awesome gifts too. I got make up, lottery tickets, the iMac, the MLK Bible!! and a pin from the protests' back in the 60's... hullo!! best gift hands down, next to the iMac of course, sorry pal. I got a purse, some cash, chocolate, candles, and i even treated myself to a massage yesterday. Ugh it was wonderful. Too bad I feel like major turd right now.
Tomorrow everyone takes off for Vegas for my mom's bday and if it's all good with Jesse I will probably go too. I tell Jesse he should come but he says he may burn himself out and he is on his much deserved and needed vacation so I won't even beg him to come with me, but I will ask him once more (that'll be like the 12th time).
Next week we should be heading out to the Echo for new years and it will be a good time. I need to dance. I want to surround myself with happy dancing folks this new years eve. 2008 is going to be about getting my shit back together and becoming more positive. By my shit I mean, my health, my sanity, my work ethic, my relationships, my sleep, myself. Last year I said I would take things one day at a time, and not worry so much and i did a good job at those but not as good as I would have liked to.
Being positive is something that seems extremely foreign but it really shouldn't be. I have been reading the Autobiography of a Yogi and it really is opening my eyes up to a lot of things such as the power of positive thought. It all sounds corny but it works. fer real. Enough with being sad already, i'm fucken 27 not 17 anymore and life is too short to wear a long face all the time. Al mal tiempo buena cara.

grindin'
so i finally decided to do something about my grinding teeth. i bought a night guard. It kinda looks like those things athletes wear to guard their teeth. I've been grinding my teeth over night for about 4 years now and it has been the cause of several pains. constant headaches, pulsating pain all over the temporal-mandibular area, ear ringing and now vertigo. i draw the line at vertigo. so i slept with it in my mouth last night and i woke up feeling awesome. i should have bought one of these things a loooong time ago. i look forward to many pain free mornings.
today after work i went to church. today is the day of the virgen de guadalupe, and while most people my age would say i'm lame for caring, i could give a fuck what they think. i am not ashamed to say that i have a very strong belief in her. i went to trader joes and bought her some flowers, parked at st.finbar and started a much needed conversation with her that brought me to tears. my spirituality is mine and not for anyone to judge. one of the things i enjoy most about it is that it's entirely mine. no one needs to understand it, and i don't have to explain it to anyone. devout catholic, I am definitely not, but i do fill out catholic on surveys when religion is asked about because that's the one I am most familiar with and that it what i grew up as. anyhow, it felt good to sit there and have a conversation with someone (something, i dunno) who doesn't roll their eyes, let's me say exactly what i want, and always listens. some might say i'm crazy "how do you know she's listening?" well, i know she listens because i am still here and i am able to wake up every day and see the brighter side. life has been tough on little ol' me many many times, as it is on everyone in different ways. i guess my faith in her is one of the things that makes getting through the shitty days a little easier. it's not for everyone, spirituality. i think it could be though. some people don't need it and that's cool with me but those who are spiritual shouldn't be judged. those who impose their beliefs on others and try to convert them can be though. my rules are keep it to yourself and be respectful of everyone, even jehova witnesses.
thank goodness it's almost friday night.

slacker.
I am so happy it's finally thursday. One more day of work this week and luckily it'll be boss-free. My bosses are both out and I have a report to finish which is perfect because I can almost guarantee I will complete it by 5:00 P.M. and start a wonderful weekend. It's supposed to be raining tomorrow and saturday which kinda sucks because I had plans to be out. I wanted to finish up my christmas shopping and I wanted to hit up the paul frank wherehouse sale in costa mesa. So much for that. We are supposed to be getting together to watch the Mayweather vs. Hatton fight on saturday so that should be good.
I have been working out for the past 2 days and I'm super sore. Kelly has been doing a great job of being patient and motivating me when we take our walks. It's starting to get rather cold though so I think I need to join a gym. There's one downstairs from my job. I don't know how much easier they could have put it for me.
I am officially on Coachella watch. I already reserved a room because not only are they saying Radiohead might headline, but David Bowie as well. My Bloody Valentine is supposed to be reuniting there as well but I can do with listening to Loveless on cd forever I suppose. When we first saw Radiohead at Coachella it was so great. Having seen them 2 times prior to that, seeing them in front of that many people was so incredible. Everyone was singing along, people were crying, Thom and Johnny were tearing shit up, it was dope. I like to watch Jesse watch Radiohead. It's kinda sick that I am intruding on his musical pleasure experience I suppose but Radiohead brings him so much joy and he gets all into it. He's so cute. Anyhow, I have massive cramps. I also just ate a tuna melt and i realized part of the bread was moldy. gross. so I tore the mold off and kept eating. gross who cares. lol. leave me alone. geez.
well i'm off to Ebay. I lost the bid on the Michael Jackson Colorforms. sucks. I am now going to start bidding on a vintage MCM bag. Tomorrow is pay day!!
oh yeah and they pod cast is coming i promise.
