it's begining to look a lot like ...

madness! I just got back from Ulta (a girl's gotta get a new flat iron once in a while) and Best Buy and it was total madness. People are already losing their minds shopping for shit they don't need. I was looking for a gift for Jesse, and I found a few runner up's but no winner yet. There were kids all over the joint and tired teens ready to load 50 items into their parent's baskets. I enjoy the holidays but shopping sucks. I think I'll stick to online shopping this year.

In other news, I think I am 98.999 percent sure I will be enrolling in culinary school in the summer. Everyone agrees that the time is now. I feel like the time has been now for ages but I too am a little scared of a career as an artist. Those who say cooking is not an art can kiss my fat ass. BBL I got a phone call.

do doo doooo...

Not much going on lately. AFI Fest was pretty awesome this year, too bad I only got to see 1 film, "Chop Shop". It was really good tho. I also got the chance to see Dan In Real Life 2 weeks ago with Martha over in S.D. and it is really good. Steve Carrell should be nominated for an Academy Award for most believable.
Well I guess something is going on. I got the balls to go check out Kitchen Academy (culinary school) on monday. I met with an admissions rep, and it seems great. The kitchens are great, fully stocked with awesome tools, and enough space for me to throw my shit all over the place. I am really entertaining the idea of paying down my bills, taking a 10 day vacation in late May and then enrolling in culinary school in June. Paper pushing sucks ape nuts. Helping others is great and being a part of a team that really makes a difference is super rewarding, but I need to make a move for my joie de vie or whatever. Sitting at a desk is no fun. This woman's place is really in the kitchen. hahaha! I just took the feminist movement back 50 years, sorry gals. I just really enjoy cooking.
what else is going on... a ginormous amount of great shows, Jens Lekman, the Walkmen, Spiritualized, Jose Gonzalez, Madlib tonight, The cool kids are opening for M.I.A., ugh. I really like their shit. MIA is kind of akward on stage, but her cd's get me sweating like no uh-thuh!
anywho, I can't wait for saturday, seeing mich and monch, at the housewarming and getting to hang out is going to be fun. Michel's new place is so cute. Janelle and him have great taste so it all came together very well. I am happy for them. I got them the awesome Real Food Daily cookbook. UGH! I love their potato salad and their soba noodles. Maybe I will treat Jesse & myself to lunch there next week. I feel like the hugest fat ass ever when I walk in there tho. Not only because it's in Weho, but because everyone is all vegan and malnourished (ahaha! I kid i kid, those folks have the most awesome glow because they eat great things but they are way thin).
ok so that's pretty much it. if you get a chance check out my birthday partner thom yorke and radiohead's cover of Unravel by Bjork, stunning. http://www2.radiohead.tv
